USAID supports "Protect yourself and your family from Hepatitis B and C" Campaign

On March 11, with the support from the United States government, a new nation-wide communication campaign, Protect yourself and Your Family from Viral Hepatitis B and C, was launched to help prevent the spread of hepatitis B and C in Moldova.  The campaign's goal is to help people to protect themselves and their families, by ensuring that they have accurate knowledge about hepatitis B and C, promoting healthy behavior and encouraging the use of regional voluntary counseling and testing centers. Ambassador Kirby and Moldovan Minister of Health Ion Ababii jointly launched the campaign at the Ministry of Health conference center. As part of the United States government’s long standing commitment to improve the health and well being of people worldwide, the US Government has made substantial investments in the control and prevention of infectious diseases in developing and transitional countries. Project coordinator Ludmila Malcoci stated that the campaign will spread information in both Romanian and Russian aimed at preventing the infectious diseases through social advertising on national TV channels and Radio stations.
