U.S. Embassy supports the International Children's Book Fair (21 Apr 2008)

The U.S. Embassy was once again actively involved in the International Children's Book Fair, organized under the leadership of the Moldovan National Library for Children.  The Embassy helped sponsor this year’s conference, the 17th edition of the event, and participated in the book exhibit with a great selection of children's books. The books displayed are now available to Moldovans at the three American Corners, with reference titles at the Information Resource Center in Chisinau.

Over 40 Moldovan librarians, publishers and information specialists participated in the digital video conference.  Leslie Burger, Director of Princeton Public Library, spoke of the ongoing reading promotion programs held in both libraries and book stores.  Moldovan participants shared information regarding the reading promotion programs held in Moldova.
