U.S. EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN TRAINING OF MOLDOVAN POLICE OFFICERS IN COMBATING TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

During the week of July 24-28, Moldovan police officers engaged in combating Trafficking in Persons went through an intensive training entitled “The Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)”.
A total of 24 police officers specializing in Trafficking in Persons participated in the event which was organized by the Moldovan Ministry of the Interior and the U.S. Embassy in Chsiinau. This training was the first in a series of trainings that will be provided by the U.S. Embassy under the Letter of Agreement between the USG and ROM establishing the Center for Combating Trafficking in Persons.
The course is designed to prepare participants to understand and become competent in leadership skills and actions to direct level leaders in: communicating, supervising, counseling, motivating, decision-making, critical reasoning and learning about self and others. In addition, the participants assess their individual values as well as their possession of the following critical leadership attributes: will, self discipline, initiave, judgment, self-confidence, intelligence, self-control and stability.
