The U.S. Embassy was once again actively involved in the International Children's Book Fair organized under the leadership of the Moldovan National Library for Children.  This time the book fair took place in Balti. The embassy participated in the book exhibit with a great selection of children's books, which are available at the American Corner in Balti.  During his opening remarks John Balian, the Public Affairs Officer, urged both children and adults to cultivate a love for reading, thus maintaining a high literacy rate to help Moldova become a prosperous democracy.
