U.S. Embassy Provides Training to Moldovan Police
The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau provided a specialized International Post Blast Investigation Techniques (IPBI) course presented by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Instructors. The IPBI nine-day training was conducted at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Interior on November 10-20, 2008.
The IPBI course was attended by Forensic Experts and Bomb Squad Officers from the Ministry of Interior, who learned the latest and best techniques for conducting post blast scene investigation. The course was entirely interactive, combining lecture with hand-on exercises, including explosives demonstrations, reconstruction of components of an explosive device recovered through various investigative techniques, processing of a crime scene caused by the detonation of a bomb inside a vehicle and office.
