In a wide-ranging interview with TV Channel N4 TV on November 28, Ambassador Kirby answered questions on various topics, including the Transnistrian settlement process, the U.S. role as observer in the talks, as well as Moldova’s prospects for future development.  He noted that the U.S. still believes that Russia should withdraw its troops from the Moldovan territory.  He noted that, as U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, he wants to communicate to as many people as possible on both sides of the Nistru River.  Regarding Moldova’s prospects for future development, he noted the advantages that an eventual MCC Compact Program would bring Moldova.  He also mentioned the importance of free and fair elections for the future democratic development of Moldova.
