American Resource Center

The American Resource Center (ARC) is administered by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, Moldova. The mission of the ARC is to provide information about the United States of America – its society, politics, history, economy, democratic traditions, holidays, and other issues of interest to the Moldovan audience.

ARC patrons include educators, students, Moldovan government officials, members of the Moldovan media, representatives of non-governmental organizations, legal professionals, librarians, and the general Moldovan public.

To facilitate the research needs of our growing audience, the ARC provides access to a variety of traditional and electronic resources, including several online databases. The ARC also provides internet access and basic computer accessibility at six public workstations.  Additionally, the ARC has a wide collection of books and DVDs, which are available for loan to registered ARC patrons.

The ARC also hosts programs to introduce and highlight different aspects of American culture, including movie screenings, book discussion clubs, digital video conferences, speaker events, and themed exhibitions.

The ARC is open Monday from 13.00 to 17.00, Tuesday-Friday from 10.00-17.00.  Lunch breack from 12.00 to 13.00.
The ARC is closed on all U.S. and Moldovan holidays.
