    To celebrate art and engage with the local arts community, Ambassador Pettit hosted an Art in Embassies reception last night. The guests had the pleasure of admiring ten paintings by American artists, as well as nine works by local art students that were displayed at his residence.

    U.S. Embassy Opens Photo Exhibit on the Holocaust

    To mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Ambassador Pettit opened a photo exhibit commemorating the more than 6 million victims of the Holocaust. The exhibit features 24 historical photographs, including 10 from Bessarabia and Transnistria.

    The United States calls for calm and restraint on the part of protestors and police in Chisinau. We urge all sides to refrain from acts that encourage or provoke violence. We further urge Moldovan authorities to immediately meet with and address protestors' concerns in an open and transparent manner.

  • Special Advisor for Children’s Issues, Amb. Jacobs, Visits Moldova

    Ambassador Susan S. Jacobs, the U.S. Department of State Special Advisor for Children’s Issues, is visiting Moldova December 10th to 12th to strengthen the partnership between the U.S. and Moldova under the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Inter-Country Adoption.
