    On Nov. 21, Ambassador William H. Moser and the Minister of Culture Monica Babuc officially opened the “Treasures of the Past” exhibition at the National Museum of History of Moldova. The exhibition includes about 1,000 objects of artistic and historical value that were made of gold, silver, and bronze.

    U.S. Donates Vehicles to MD Peacekeeping Battalion

    On November 12, Ambassador William H. Moser took part in a ceremony with Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti and Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco marking the donation by the U.S. of 39 HMMWV "HumVees" and 10 trailers at a value of $700,000 to the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion of the Moldovan National Army.

    Floresti Receives Equipment Through USAID

    On November 7, 2014, U.S. Ambassador William H. Moser attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for renovated school sanitation facilities in Floresti and handed over the keys of a road grader to the Floresti Municipality, the first equipment donation to a city government from the USAID (LGSP).

    U.S. Renovates School’s Kitchen in Elizaveta Village

    On November 4, Ambassador William H. Moser inaugurated renovated kitchen and dining facilities at the Elizaveta Middle school near Balti. This $75,000 project is the third renovation by the United States European Command Civic Engagement Program this year.

    The U.S. Embassy takes note of the Appeals Court decision to exclude the Patria party from the electoral list. Although we are not privy to all of the facts considered by the Appeals Court in this case, we are deeply concerned about ensuring respect for rule of law and a fair and democratic electoral process. We call upon all parties involved to ensure the law is respected and that the people of Moldova can peacefully express their democratic will November 30 in line with international standards and democratic principles.

    The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the next round of the Alumni Small Grants Program. The Program is designed to support alumni in sharing the experience they gained through their exchange programs and implementing best practices they learned in the U.S.
