The U.S. Government has financed the reconstruction of the emergency ward of the Edinet hospital. This $45,000 project renovated the emergency ward entrance and driveway, patient reception and preparation rooms, the reanimation room, the X-ray room, treatment wards, laboratory, bathrooms, offices, and patient rooms.

This project was implemented at the direct request of the Government of Moldova, under the auspices of U.S. European Command Humanitarian Assistance Program, and was administered through the Office of Defense Cooperation of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.

The hospital serves citizens of the city of Edinet and the entire Edinet raion. This project significantly increases the quality of emergency medical services and improves the capability of the hospital to respond to natural and manmade disasters.

The official opening of the renovated emergency ward and reanimation facility of the Edinet Raion hospital will take place on 3 Feb 04 at 11.00.
