The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the donation of medical equipment, furniture and other items to the Crihana-Veche Boarding School and the HIV/AIDS Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the Republican Dermatological Dispensary. These items were donated through the U.S. Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program as follow-up to humanitarian assistance projects completed earlier this year -- renovation of dormitory building of Crihana-Veche Boarding School (completed in June 2004) and renovation of HIV/AIDS Diagnosis and Treatment Center (completed in August 2004).
The Crihana-Veche Boarding School received household furniture - bunk-beds, mattresses, bookshelves, chairs, kitchen and classroom tables etc. valued at $29,500.
Items donated to the HIV/AIDS Diagnosis and Treatment Center include a generator, selected medical equipment, medical furniture, medical durable and expendable supplies and instruments, and furniture (chairs, beds, tables, cabinets, shelves, sofas etc) valued at $67,000.
